As with all used guitars, signs of wear, marks etc are to be expected so please study the photographs carefully as these form part of the description, there are very small "cracks" in the lacquer/paintwork on the back horns, pictured.

The Gibson ESDP 335 was a limited production model built at the now-closed Gibson Memphis plant, over the course of several years. The ESDP designation expands to “Electric Spanish Dot Neck Plain Top”, and is otherwise a standard ES-335 dot neck model. This has a 50's neck and is commonly referred to as a "Fat Neck"

Gibson introduced the ES-335 as a new ground-breaking concept for their 1958 model year. Ted McCarty, then President of Gibson, had the idea to combine traditional arch top guitar tone with solid body sustain and feedback resistance. The arch top concept itself was created by Orville Gibson, merging violin family construction practices with guitar and mandolin designs. The new ES-335 was followed quickly by the ‘up market’ ES-345 and ES-355. Though Gibson was aiming at the Jazz market with these guitars, they were most rapidly adopted by Blues and Rock ‘n Roll artists.

Here we’re looking at a Gibson ESDP 335. Like other ‘dot neck’ models, the ESDP 335 is a great guitar, well built, comfortable to play, and with a great sound. The body construction is of Maple Laminate and a solid Maple center block. The neck is MH, with a bound RW fingerboard and, since it’s a Dot Neck, Mother of Pearl dot position markers. The headstock carries a Gibson logo and Crown inlay, also in Mother of Pearl.

For hardware, the headstock has Grover Roto-Matic models, and the body has a traditional ABR-1 ‘Tune-O-Matic’ bridge and stop tailpiece pair. Electronics include a pair of Classic 57 humbucking pickups, and standard Gibson 3-position pickup selector and individual volume and tone controls, and output jack on the top near the tail block. The finish is Nitrocellulose lacquer Comes with Gibson Custom Shop Case

Professionally set up with new strings.
